Our last tournament was cancelled due to the lack of players attending. For those of you that did make it there, we apologize for any inconvience we caused.
When: April 7th Format: Type 2 (minimum 60 card decks with 15 card sideboards)Cost: $5 Location: Area 51/ The Gamer Lounge Start Time: 6:30 PM We are playing a "NON SANCTIONED" MTG tournament, this means that no points are being accrued, nor is there a "FNM" card being given away. This will be a friendly tournament and the prizes will be in credit that is added to your acount at The Gamer Lounge (You can not only get time, you can get food, drink, candy, ect...). Prize structure will obviously depend on how many people come to play.
This night is also the Overnighter for The Gamer Lounge. Space may be limited. If you chose to play in the tournament, I highly suggest looking into the overnighter. Please remember, computer use this night of gaming is meant for the people who are there for the overnight. If the computer room is full, be respectful and hand over your computer to a person that paid for the overnight. Doing the overnighter garentees you a spot on a computer (This does not mean you do not have to pay the tournament entry fee, it will still be another $5).
Well, unfortunately we couldn't get enough people to come here to play for the friday the 7th game, so Sean has told me that from now on we can run free tournaments here at The Gamer Lounge and he will put up prizes for us based on amounts of people playing. We're trying to get a good showing and it's just not happening. So we'll try it out this way. Please if you are interested in playing in these free tournaments, let Spencer, Bryan S. or Doc know, so we can get a good showing. If you're reading this, pass the information on to others, including these forums. We need to get the types of tournaments that WE want to play and as we all know, there needs to be another place for us to play Magic at. We are trying to make this happen.
MTG stands for Magic: the Gathering. It is a Collecable Card Game (CCG) that has been in print for almost 13 years now. It is by far the most recognized CCGs in history, because of its perserverence through time. The game mechanics do not need to be explained here, that is better shown. If you can get down the the Lounge either on a Saturday after 7pm, or on a Friday after 10pm, I can show you what it is about.
I work at Jimmy Jams Comics and Games, and I have been playing MTG ever since I can remember. If you want to know more, either stop in there on Friday night, or Saturday, or better yet, go to the Lounge after those times.
